Why wildlife rehabilitation matters

Our goal is to help you understand the importance of caring for injured and orphaned native wildlife in our community and the vital role you can play in supporting this mission. Wildlife rehabilitation offers animals a second chance and protects the natural balance of the environment we all share.

We want you to feel connected to this crucial work, learn how rehabilitation helps local species recover and return safely to the wild, and see the real difference community support makes. Whether you're looking to volunteer, donate supplies, follow rescue updates, or learn what to do if you find an injured animal, this page is here to guide you.

Our mission: Helping native Texas wildlife

We focus on helping injured, orphaned, and displaced native Texas wildlife with the primary goal of safely returning them to their natural habitat whenever possible. Our work directly supports the animals that live right here in our local community and surrounding areas.

We commonly assist small mammals such as squirrels, rabbits, opossums, and raccoons, as well as songbirds and other native bird species that may become injured, separated from their parents, or affected by storms, habitat loss, or human activity. As our rehabilitation center continues to grow, we hope to expand the number of species we are able to help.

Join our community of care

If you want to help support our wildlife rehabilitation efforts, the most important step we hope you take is reaching out and becoming part of this journey with us. Wildlife rehabilitation is truly a community effort, and every bit of support makes a difference for the animals in our care.

You can help by volunteering your time, donating needed supplies, sharing our mission with others, or following our progress. Even learning what to do when you find an injured or orphaned animal helps protect wildlife in our area. Whether you volunteer, contribute supplies, or simply stay connected, your support helps give local wildlife a second chance.

Our unique approach: Community and compassion

This center was created out of a genuine love for local wildlife and a desire to give injured and orphaned animals in our community a second chance. Every animal that comes through our doors is treated with patience, respect, and the goal of returning it safely to the wild where it belongs.

Our approach is rooted in community connection. We believe wildlife rehabilitation isn’t something that happens behind closed doors. It’s something neighbors, families, and local supporters can be part of together. By sharing updates, offering guidance when people find animals in need, and creating opportunities for volunteers to get involved, we hope to build a place where people feel connected to the wildlife around them.

Another part of what makes our center unique is our partnership with a local small business, Texas Swings, which helps support the mission through handcrafted cedar work, community relationships, and outreach. That connection allows us to combine craftsmanship, education, and conservation.
